People w/ mental health conditions make up 53% of the population at Rikers. On average, they are held 61% longer. We pay $556,000 per person annually to keep them in jail. 90% on Rikers are held without conviction. By contrast, it costs ~$42k to put them in supportive housing.

It’s probably not great when five people can decide what rights we have, and they are allowed to take as much free stuff as they want from oligarchs with no accountability.

Clarence Thomas is corrupt as hell and the corruption at the republican Supreme Court stinks to high heaven. Thomas should resign immediately and I urge all my colleagues to demand the same.
