Why is World Gynecologic Oncology Day needed? 🤔 In short: 💜Too many are unaware of the (tbh—often vague/confusing!) symptoms. 💜Too many are too embarrassed about their symptoms to consult a doctor. 💜 Too much stigma associated with cancer & and women’s bodies.

You’re doing a lot for others. How about a 🎁 for yourself? If you notice gyn cancer symptoms that last for 2 weeks or longer, give yourself something more important than anything you’ll find under the 🎄 & ask a dr about what you’ve noticed. 💜 #womenshealth

✅Vaccinate 💉 yourself and your children against HPV (depending on the region, it may be available for girls or all children) ✅ Go for regular screening 🧪 and remind your loved ones to attend their appointments too! ✅ Know the symptoms 💁♀️ of cervical cancer

Today is the World Health Organization’s World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day, which calls for action to meet their “90-70-90” targets by 2030. 🩷💜 Elimination of this cancer is within reach if we act now, together.

You know your body best.🩵 👀👀If you notice something unusual, like bloating, feeling full too quickly after eating, or changes in how often you need to use the bathroom, get it checked out. When ovarian cancer is detected early, it is easier to treat.

We are proud to support the Cancer Patients Europe Position Paper on Defining Unmet Medical Needs. 💜 The definition of Unmet Medical Need (UMN) will play a decisive role in how research is prioritised, how innovation is incentivised, and how patients gain timely access to new therapies. A narrow or static definition risks limiting innovation and delaying access to life-saving or quality-of-life-improving treatments, especially in oncology. Together with Cancer Patients Europe & other co-signatories, ENGAGe & ESGO call for a broad, flexible, and patient-centred definition of UMN that reflects not only medical but also patient and societal perspectives.
