Adherence is about understanding your treatment plan, not just taking medication. Stay on track with the right support and resources. Your health matters.

💊 Non-adherence is widespread, but it isn’t inevitable. Evidence shows that what happens at treatment initiation plays a critical role in long-term adherence. This #WorldAdherenceDay, we’re encouraging healthcare professionals to treat adherence as a modifiable risk factor and support patients from day one. 👉 Learn more: f.mtr.cool/ovoojckfod #StayOnTrack #DontMissaMoment #MovedByYou #ClinicalRisk #PatientSupport #Prevention #BetterOutcomes @worldheartfed

Prof. Jagat Narula MD PhD, President, @worldheartfed (World Heart Federation), delivers the keynote “Ageing and CVD: What you sow, so shall you reap…”, highlighting that cardiovascular health in later life is shaped by choices, care, and policy across the life course. His key message: investing in cardiovascular prevention today determines how we age tomorrow. CARDIO-India aims to translate this evidence into scalable action for older adults in India. #CVD #HealthyAgeing #CARDIOIndia #NCDs @INDIACCDC @uniofleicester

Cardiovascular disease is the NUMBER ONE KILLER of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths every year. And yet, CVD in women continues to be understudied, underdiagnosed and undertreated, even to this day. Let's stop living in the past. Let's listen to women's hearts. #WomensDay #IWD2026

🫀Your heart responds to emotions like love, fear, and stress. These feelings can change its rate and rhythm. In some cases, intense emotional stress can temporarily weaken the heart, a condition known as broken heart syndrome. It happens when a sudden shock like grief, heartbreak, or extreme fear affects how the heart pumps. The good news? In most cases, it’s reversible, and the heart recovers with time and care.

🧑‍🚀A study of 12 astronauts by NASA found that during long periods in microgravity, the heart becomes more spherical as it adapts to a gravity-free environment. This change appears to be temporary, with the heart returning to its normal shape shortly after astronauts return to Earth. While a more spherical heart may work less efficiently, the long-term health effects are still unknown.

A heart attack is not the same as a cardiac arrest. ⚡ A cardiac arrest is an electrical problem. 🔀 A heart attack is a circulation problem. Both are life-threatening emergencies. Recognize the signs and call your emergency number right away 👇

The best Valentine’s gift… is more Valentine’s Days together. Small steps matter: moving a little more, quitting smoking, getting that checkup you’ve been putting off… Your heart is worth it, and so are the moments that come from it. Love lasts when hearts do ❤️

A rush? A glance? A touch? A dance? Being able to choose how and with whom to celebrate a special day like Valentine's Day is a gift in itself. Taking care of yourself is what allows those moments to happen again and again. Because love lasts when hearts do.

It's #WomeninScience Day! Did you know that women represent less than one third of researchers worldwide? At WHF, we strongly believe that supporting girls and women in science is key to building a better, more equitable future. The world needs science, and science needs women.

Big soda and alcohol companies earned billions last year, while governments spent billions treating diseases these products cause. We urge governments to implement at least 50% excise taxes on alcohol and sugary drinks to fund essential health services and save lives.
