Over the weekend, the United Arab Emirates’ air defence architecture demonstrated a high level of effectiveness in countering a sustained Iranian attack involving ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial systems. According to official UAE Ministry of Defence data, a very large-scale salvo — comprising over 130 ballistic missiles and more than 200 drones — was detected approaching UAE airspace. The majority of these threats were intercepted and destroyed mid-air by UAE air defence systems, with only a small number of missiles falling into the sea or dropping debris within the country.
