World Vision reinforces support to families affected by conflict in Nampula province, northern #Mozambique. Beneficiaries are families who have returned to their areas of origin after losing the first agricultural season due to ongoing insecurity. They were assisted with 1,000 agricultural input kits for the second farming season.

World Vision Mozambique is responding to the cholera outbreak that has killed 76 people from over 6000 positive cases nationwide, according to the health authorities. Flood Relief: Standing with Communities in Gaza Province Since December 2025, devastating floods in central and southern Mozambique have claimed over 200 lives, displaced thousands of families, and affected more than 445,169 people in Gaza Province alone, with 60% of the province submerged and critical infrastructure severely damaged. With support from the United States, World Vision has launched an emergency response delivering lifesaving assistance to 15,000 people impacted by recent devastating flooding in Gaza. Sectors: ·Food Security: Food vouchers for displaced families to meet essential nutritional needs · Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH): Safe daily water access for displaced people and hygiene kits for households · Protection: Strengthened safeguarding and psychosocial support for women and children Where: Accommodation centers across Guijá, Mabalane, and Chókwè districts Together with our partners and in coordination with the Government of Mozambique, World Vision is moving quickly to restore dignity, safety, and hope for families rebuilding after the severe flooding crisis. Emergency Flood Response: Fast, Focused Support for Families in Gaza Province, Mozambique
Since December 2025, devastating floods in central and southern Mozambique have claimed over 200 lives, displaced thousands of families, and affected more than 445,169 people in Gaza Province alone, with 40% of the province submerged and critical infrastructure severely damaged. With support from the ExxonMobil Foundation, World Vision Mozambique is delivering rapid, lifesaving assistance to 6,000 vulnerable people affected by flooding.
What this response will achieve:
Food security: Provision of food vouchers to stabilize nutritious consumption during recovery;
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene: Safe water access restored for displaced and vulnerable people, households receive hygiene kits, and awareness of hygiene practices during flooding to reduce disease risks
Protection: Raising awareness and safeguards for the protection of women and children during crisis.
Where: Guijá and Mabalane districts, in accommodation centers and affected communities
When: 16 February – 15 April 2026

For three long days, 80‑year‑old Grandpa Ernesto lived in the darkness of uncertainty. With no news of his daughter and surrounded by devastating floods, fear grew with every passing hour. Father and daughter were separated by the force of the waters, but they never lost hope.
“I knew my father was alive. I asked the rescue teams not to give up. Deep in my heart, I felt he was waiting for me,” recalls Noda, daughter of Grandpa Ernesto, after days marked by fear and uncertainty, yet carried by faith. #Floods2026 #Mozambique
