It’s more than the big numbers, it’s about what it means for real people. 💧 Every 10 seconds, a new person gains access to clean water through World Vision’s work. But beyond the numbers, it’s about what that really means for a child. No more sickness. No more long walks just to collect water. More time in school. Because something as simple as clean water can transform a child’s everyday life. 🧡 #CleanWater #52WeeksOfImpact

Toilet. Loo. Lavatory. Latrine. WC. Washroom. Restroom. Whatever you call it… A block of these changed everything for Simson, Fatima and their friends in Somalia. There used to be nowhere for girls to manage their periods safely and with dignity. It was stressful and demoralising. It was easier to miss school. Last year, World Vision worked with their school to build a new block of toilets. Now, with access to water and somewhere safe to manage their periods, the girls are back at school. Last year alone, 300,000 girls benefitted from new facilities like these. That’s 300,000 girls with greater confidence and dignity. That’s 300,000 girls able to stay in school. #52weeksofimpact

🚺 Every woman and girl deserves a safe, private space to manage her period, yet millions still face barriers that affect their daily lives. 💧 When communities have access to clean water and safe sanitation facilities, women and girls can manage their periods comfortably, confidently, and without social pressure. Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible mothers everywhere 💐 When mothers help mothers, we create a powerful circle of support. 🧡 At a Primary Health Care Centre supported by World Vision in South Sudan, mothers are doing exactly that supporting one another while helping their children recover from acute malnutrition and giving them a chance to grow up healthy and strong. Today we celebrate the strength, care and resilience of mothers around the world.

This International Women’s Day 💐 – let’s celebrate every woman we know and every contribution they are making for a safer, more prosperous world for us and our future generations, our children. At World Vision, we work with thousands of female changemakers every day, like this amazing group of women in Ethiopia who have set up their own rural micro-finance group to boost the financial prospects of their local village by removing barriers for progress and entrepreneurship. It means greater prosperity in their community which means more children are in school, more children are healthy and growing, more children are experiencing life in its fullness. From our female leaders, our female staff, our female community leaders, our committed female supporters, and the women, mothers and girls who are making waves in their communities and giving their time, their skills, their voice, their resources, to help others gain. Happy International Women’s Day 2026. World Vision reaches 335 million people each year* through long-term community development programmes including assisting 35.6* million people in emergency settings, more than half of these are women and girls. We are the largest non-governmental children’s charity in the world and integrate gender-equality projects to support and advocate for women and girls across all our work. #IWD2026 #GivetoGain #Girlpower #genderequality

World Vision’s Child Sponsorship has transformed Glory’s school by building girl-friendly toilet blocks 🚻 equipped with facilities for managing menstruation safely, with access to clean water 💧 for washing and proper sanitation. Students now receive education about reproductive health 📚, and empowerment clubs teach both boys and girls to make reusable sanitary pads 🧵, easing financial pressure on families. These changes mean girls like Glory can attend school consistently, manage their periods with dignity, and regain confidence in their futures. Clean water 💧, safe sanitation 🚻, and menstrual hygiene education together help ensure that something as natural as a period never stands in the way of a girl’s education. #PostYourPad FOR #PeriodPoverty #Water FOR #Sanitationandhygine

Imagine what it's like to be a child in the Middle East region right now? When crises hit, the impact on children lasts for generations. Lost education, lost loved ones, lost freedom, generational trauma. Right now 45 million children across the region are at risk of dying, every day. World Vision has worked in the Middle East region for 50 years and is currently working across 15 countries and territoties. When crises hit, World Vision turns up and we stay. Hear from World Vision's Regional Leader, Eleanor Monibot OBE, for an expert view on the impact on children in this sharply escalating crisis. #MiddleEast #ChildrenInCrisis #HumanitarianResponse

What can more than 30 years of commitment look like? 🤔✨ For Hugh, it looks like communities empowered and a legacy that lives on. In 1992, his late wife Jo began sponsoring a little girl in Bangladesh. When they visited in 1994, they saw how long-term support helps people build lasting change for themselves. “Mission accomplished,” Hugh reflects. And he then started sponsoring too. Jo sadly passed away in 2018, having sponsored seven children in her lifetime. Hugh continues what they began together and is as committed as ever. He has also chosen to include a gift to World Vision in his Will. “I’m not after a sticking plaster solution, but long-term development. I trust what World Vision does and that the money will go to the right place.” For decades, gifts in Wills have helped protect children and create sustainable change. Hugh is one of many supporters ensuring that work continues for generations to come. Your values matter. And they can live on. 🧡 💬 Find out more and request your free Gifts in Wills: wvuk.org/f5rU50Ymzro#LegacyOfHope #GiftsInWills @youroctopuslegacy

In Cambodia, water infrastructure is limited. Many families don’t have a toilet, and illness is common among children. Through World Vision’s Child Sponsorship programme, communities are trained in hygiene and sanitation, helping protect children’s health and reduce the risks linked to unsafe water. Because clean water doesn’t just improve health. It strengthens whole communities. 🧡 #52WeeksOfImpact

What happens when clean water flows for the first time? 💧 For 10-year-old Sitina, it meant laughter. Splashing. Joy. Before this, she walked for hours each day, too exhausted to learn. Now, a new World Vision water point serves over 3,000 people in her village. Clean water didn’t just change her routine. It gave her childhood back. 🧡
