Australia, NZ, South Africa & Canada joined Britain and France in declaring war on Germany. Still no word from the White House. 5 Sept 1939.

German bombers attacked Britain earlier this week! 8 Sept 1939.

FDR has declared a "limited national emergency". What does that even mean?
