@Wraithzeon I know I’m a little bit worried about it for this year myself in all honesty but I’m gonna do my best 🙏 I’m in a unique position because I already have connections with the events I’ve partnered with in the last few years so I should be able to at least get some

Hot take on Minecraft game nights / "invitational" events becoming mostly paid nowadays 🔥 Realistically, most free game nights don't actually bring much benefit to the event that's hosting, so I can understand why those partnerships are usually paid ones now... 🧵

@fatratlive I feel like your event at least meets the criteria for a unique pitch - it's automatically more appealing than "generic game night" but I'm still curious to see how easy it is to get events involved because of how much the event scene has changed since last time you ran it

@Wraithzeon In terms of my 24h charity event it wouldnt be possible without the support from other event owners. It’s impossible for me to code the 8-10 events I would need to fill the day and everyone is coming together for a common goal. I see your point but there are def some exceptions.

@fatratlive Yeah convenience is fair - personally for me that's the easy / fun stuff to do, and I'm also particular about how my events are managed, so I wouldn't choose to give that part to someone else without another reason

@Wraithzeon Yes, I could host my own charity events (and I have) but it’s nice when someone else handles the planning, team making, publicity, player management, etc and all I have to do is set up the server. It definitely helps me run more events with my busy schedule

It may not be a perfect event but it'll be yours, you'll have control over who you invite, you can customise it to your needs, and you'll pick up skills you can use for making other stuff! And who knows, maybe you'll end up with people coming to you to request game nights 😉

There are lots of good tutorials and resources to learn the basics. Heck, when I made my first event I'd never even heard of a command block. It's not as hard to learn as you may think! Just pick a SIMPLE concept (SMP, hide & seek, survival games etc.) and see where it takes you!
