@SubBeck @LombardiHimself He’s the leader of the cult, actually making the kool aid as well as drinking it. Not an objective note ever and won’t be - he gets paid for constant Shanny praise by the 49er culties who care not for a SB.

After 10 years straight of working without a vacation, I’m finally taking the family on a big trip to Hawaii. The kids are so happy. I know they are not the best, but we got a great deal through Spirit Airlines. Can’t wait to share pictures with you all when we arrive.

Couldn’t have asked for a better first half from the Sixers honestly. They were cooking in the first quarter, ball movement and confidence was great. Second quarter, let the Celtics back in it, but they weren’t getting blown out at home in game seven, but I like how the Sixers didn’t crumble with the run and closed solid. Of course Derrick White, who has been awful the whole series comes alive. Finish. The. Job. Please.

If Kaelon Black was the second-best running back in the draft to Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers, then that means they think the Seahawks massively reached for Jadarian Price. Ooooof.

@grantcohn The Giants really could use their version of David Lombardi to help explain why this is all exactly as intended.

The Giants just lost two games in one day, they’re five games under .500, a half game behind the Rockies for last place in the division, and Rafael Devers is hitting .207. Things are looking up.

After all the endless shitting on the 49ers draft, I’m fully prepared for 2 All-Pros to be apart of this class for them, by the way.

@LombardiHimself That would be a fitting outcome for a really good guy. Just using coach consensus doesn’t compete with actual personnel ability.

Meanwhile, the 2025 draft won’t be up for fair grades until late 2027. But based on the early trajectories of Upton Stout, Mykel Williams, Alfred Collins, and CJ West, there is real reason to believe that it’ll produce at least 4 solid starting-level players. And that’s just the minimum. Marques Sigle, Nick Martin, Connor Colby, Jordan Watkins, Kurtis Rourke, and Junior Bergen are all still on the team with the future still unwritten. John Lynch isn’t wrong: 2025 can end up being a really good draft for the 49ers

@grantcohn Can someone get through his bubble and ask him why they have a record of abysmal drafts for 5 years now?

Draft reactions have highlighted the current disconnect from objectivity and reality. It's the most 2026 thing ever: Entirely rooted in the rush to make 100% subjective judgments on a heavily subjective process *years* before it's possible to make objective conclusions. The subjectivity of April is why I made so much fun of the mock draft obsession heading into the Draft. But that mock draft obsession fits so well in an age where a loud minority (and the media that leads them) with a voice on social media thrives on subjectivity. The only way to objectively cover a draft is to analyze a team's strategy. Immediate grades instantly move the discussion from the arena of facts to the world of feelings. So do does "consensus" obsession — because consensus is built on subjective evaluations in the first place!

@LombardiHimself If only this rampant shilling had a modicum of truth … they would be hoisting Lombardis instead of redrafting their mistakes over and over. Still none of them are quality players.

So if both the 2024 and 2025 drafts hit for the 49ers, as looks entirely possible (maybe even likely), the only truly “deficient” drafts on their resumé will be 2022 and 2023 — the two compromised by the Trey Lance trade. And they still got Brock Purdy, one of the best-value draft selections of all time, in that 2-year slump. SF also used a flurry of valuable picks on CMC in 2022. Sorry if big-picture logical analysis disrupts your irrational anger

The draft is done, probably along with any chance the #49ers will trade QB Mac Jones. In hindsight, Jones, who would have earned a nice FA contract in March, must regret signing a two-year deal. sfchronicle.com/sports/49ers/a…

@LombardiHimself And if that was remotely likely they wouldn’t have filled the receiver room with others and still need a safety

Everyone agrees the ‘22 and ‘23 49ers’ drafts were bad. Purdy saved them. Later this year, we’ll be finally able to grade the ‘24 draft. It’ll come down to health. Pearsall and Mustapha can give 49ers at least 4 solid starters from just that class. Would make it a good draft
