Lou Thesz! After reading ‘Hooker’, I was so looking forward to meeting him at the first PWHOF ceremony in Schenectady, NY back in May 2002, but he died just before the show. So close! It would have been so fascinating to pick his brain about the time he came up as a shooter.

Hulk Hogan was the reason I got i to pro wrestling. He created many childhood memories for me and even more with the nWo. He was one of my favorites growing up and it’s really sad to hear of his passing. Thank you Hulk and rest easy brother.

The industry lost a man today that redefined what success could look like in Pro Wrestling. This post is to acknowledge Hulk Hogan's contributions to the industry, which are difficult to put into adequate words. Terry Bollea made personal choices that earned him understandable criticism, but I'm not here to weigh in on that. As someone who has put food on the table from pro wrestling for twenty years, I believe it is necessary to take a moment to recognize the importance of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to our business. He pulled the wagon and brought a ton of people with him. Brought wrestling into the cable TV era, changed the game for the way performers could monetize their talent. Put simply, he showed us what was possible.
Also, he represents my childhood, and millions of others. That deserves recognition.
RIP Hulk Hogan.

WWE would not be where it is today without the larger-than-life characters that compete in the ring … and few, if any, loomed larger than Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea.
He was the archetype of what it meant to be a “Superstar” - a global sensation that inspired millions to work hard at whatever it was they wanted to accomplish and a look that made him recognizable to fans around the world.
Hulk Hogan, clad in red and yellow or nWo black and white, was simply put, iconic. As a Real American or the leader of one of the industry’s biggest factions, he transcended and elevated the entire business to heights never before seen - in every country and on every continent.
There was no one like The Hulkster and there very well may never be another. My family sends their condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

For better or worse, that was the true WWE experience. The production/presentation was unbelievable. However, the self-aggrandizement, showcasing the shittiest people in the industry (Hogan, Paul), non-stop barrage of ads, and subpar in-ring wrestling is too much for me atp

WRESTLING FAMILIES I decided to analyze this listing of the top wrestlers of 1968 to determine how many of these grapplers had descendants who also became wrestlers. I was surprised that almost a third of the 30 HEAVYWEIGHTS on the list were followed into the ring by their children. I think that's a high percentage rivaled only by what I would expect in union households. Can you identify the first generation heavyweights and their children?
