The budget failed to deliver significant income tax cuts to offset bracket creep that is devasting family budgets as a result of high inflation. For someone on a wage of $80,000, 4% inflation reduces purchasing power by $3,200 each year. The best Chalmers can do to help hard working Australians, is to offer a measly $275 temporary tax offset. The minimum CGT tax rate of 30% is wrong. Capital gains like any income should be taxed at the marginal rate. Low income earners are going to be hit hard by this measure. I could live with removing the CGT discount provided the extra tax revenue from that measure had been used to offset income tax rather than remove negative gearing. Negative gearing is more effective when income tax rates are high. If tax rates were lowered, then negative gearing would be become a more much ineffective tax strategy.   Personally I’ve never been a fan of negative gearing, because you have to spend a $1 to get 47 cents back which leaves you 53 cents worse off in today’s money. There is no substitute for cutting income tax if you want to maintain a strong economy. Immigration is forecast to be 2 million over the next two terms of Parliament which is still too high.  Yet again if Labor wants to improve housing affordability, why won’t they lower immigration? Debt levels are forecast to continue to increase which reflects on Labor’s inability to control government spending. People First will cut spending, cut immigration and cut taxes. How I made a million dollars in China: In 2011 I went to Shanghai for a holiday and two main things happened: 1. I realised I was lied to about China by western media and politics. This created an intellectual awakening. 2. I met a girl and we started dating. About 6 months later she came to Australia for a holiday to see me and when she left, about 20 friends asked her if she could get products from Australia to bring back. Her entire luggage looked like a convenience store. I immediately thought, why not just start an online store and we can sell Australian products directly? I was one of the first people in Australia to mass-send baby formula to China. You could literally sell everything for double the retail price of Australia. I physically couldn’t purchase enough baby formula. I would fill entire trolleys and empty the whole store. Eventually I developed relationships with certain stores so they gave me unopened boxes before they even went on the shelf. The market became so popular that it created anger among Australian mothers because they couldn’t get formula and stores started imposing limit restrictions. It even extended into vitamins and vitamin e creams etc I got into massive arguments with Australians in chemists. It was bizarre trying to explain to people who don’t like communism that the government controlling how much you can buy of things is communism. Chinese middle class mothers wanted the best baby formula in the world, they have money to buy it. This is capitalism 101. I knew a Chinese woman in Melbourne who rented a warehouse and made over $3 million PER YEAR. They did a media report on her as if she was a criminal, even though her entire business was legitimate. Ironically, most of the dairy powder isn’t even Australian, it comes from New Zealand. By 2018 the market became highly competitive and profit margins decreased. With Covid, the market collapsed 50% overnight. People didn’t want to order overseas products. Now all the top brands produce baby formula IN China and Chinese dairy companies are rapidly becoming close to Australia in quality. I have since pivoted to content creation, and China is by far the most abundant market for that too. This story is a perfect example of how finding the truth can make you successful. I went to China for a holiday and it changed my life. You are missing a generational opportunity by not exploring China.
