@preciouswings_ Pretty much. What's even funnier is Rapi and Andersen being like "yeah I'd go to hell with you" because that's how much they understand her. But the preferred outcome is to not go down that path, which thankfully didn't happen.

LITERALLY anyone with remote emotional intelligence could have seen that everything Dorothy did was a defence mechanism formed from all her pain and trauma paired with self punishment from guilt her anger was a barricade around her heart to protect her !!! +

throughout chapter 45 and 46, you can see how much being thanked and appreciated means to dorothy. during the attack with sixo, she protected the humans and they thanked her. when the commander said that he believed in her, and trusted her, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. when she was thanked by burningum for being the goddess of victory... she doesn't want to show it. she doesn't want to hope again. she doesn't want to open up and be hurt.

@preciouswings_ I also want to add, the term "redemption arc" doesn't really fit this conclusion It's more like closure. Dorothy doesn't really need to redeem herself in the eyes of someone who understood her from the start.

@amarmos_alter There was never doubt. She is perhaps the most loving character in the game. Her capacity for love is exactly why she hurts so deeply and can’t forgive herself and even hates herself for how she feels. And so, she has to convince herself that she’s a terrible person. It’s sad.
