There's no place like home!

On this Veterans Day, we honor all those who have served our country. My father, John B. Huffman (1924–1996), was a proud Marine who fought in the Pacific during WWII. With an unshakable desire to fight for his country, he enlisted at the age of 17 and served throughout the war. Like so many of the Greatest Generation, he returned home to build a life and family, working in the oilfields as a roustabout, tool pusher, and eventually a driller to provide for his wife and children. It was from him that I learned the true meaning of patriotism, bravery, and the virtues of hard work. To all the veterans in our great nation, we owe you an immense debt for the sacrifices you made for our freedom. May this Veterans Day bring you the honor and peace you deserve.
