Hey everyone! This is my first time making a video like this, and honestly, it took way longer than I expected. I really wanted to share some concepts and ideas I have about map control and wave management in Dota 2 Here's the idea: in Dota, the mid wave meets every 20 seconds, while the side lanes meet around every 30 seconds. Since all waves spawn every 30 seconds, the map naturally stays balanced until someone disrupts it by pushing with spells, auto-attacks, Ilusions, or dominated creeps. Waves are one of Dota's only constant variables that never change (unlike Roshan respawn times or Tormentor after the first one at minute 20). Waves always spawn every 30 seconds, and jungle creeps always spawn every minute, you can use those 2. Once you start looking at Dota this way, everything just clicks. You'll start noticing how pro teams use waves to set up smoke ganks, take control of different parts of the map, and even predict where the enemy is going. It's honestly one of the best ways to avoid getting smoke gank, you can literally figure out where they are and what they're up to just by keeping an eye on the waves.
