The so called weak downburst I recorded last night was not weak decent tree damage some downed trees around my apartment complex and Ames area none I’ve seen do damage to buildings but they’ve come close

@NotChilledOut Can’t they specifically list they aren’t aloud to handle white tailed deer, but the deer went somewhere else last night at around 1am at least that’s when the crying stopped so idk where it is now.

Update that poor fawn still out there by the tree was crying tonight while I’m trying to sleep I have a good suspicion that the mother is gone so rip.

More storm mergers that are cooking today, cold pool to the south that are cooking those, but there is that 1 storm that might produce so everyone is on it. Chasing this year is either completely boring or there is only 1 storm doing it, so everyone is on it and it becomes super dangerous.

I have a very worrying feeling about today, no regrets missing with chasing convergence I fear a corridor with the strongest potential with poor road options and faster moving supercells could put me in danger, this is not a chase you do alone you gotta have people there to help you, I don’t so as a result I’m not going.

The Hyundai gets 18 to the gallon so even if prices were like 3.50 like they were in April it would’ve been hard to justify still. If gas was still 2.15-2.50 a gallon and I was still chasing in the Chevy Trax (shitbox) that gets 32 on highway and had the tools and setup inside to sleep at any loves I would probably be at a local loves by now sleeping the night but alas that car is shit and my Hyundai which is great lacks a sleeping setup and good gas mileage. The next car is a hybrid in hopefully a year or 2 so this issue will never happen again.

And no today’s bust for me didn’t make me decide to miss tomorrow, I decided that cause I need to save money for chasecation and a trip home in a couple weeks as well and I’m not about to drop 250 bucks for what will be a monumentally annoying 7 hour drive so my target I had listed out yesterday and back within the same today cause I’m not dropping 50 bucks on a cheap hotel or motel that’s a half tank of gas me no lie 💀

Terrible chase day, I left later than I wanted, I wanted to leave at 12 I left at 12:50 as a result of that I missed the only tornado intercept chance of the day for me an incredible violent tornado and I missed it by 20 minutes. The. I had to deal with awful chaser horde that almost resulted in a crash, had multiple dumb idiots nearly crash into me, overall terrible day. Not chasing tomorrow due to the fact I’m not doing an 8 hour drive right now, need to go work hard save up some money and prepare to chase in June.
