Prolonged periods of training heavy rainfall with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches will result in the potential for flash flooding across much of the ArkLaTex today. If you encounter water on roadways, turn around, don't drown.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas until 11 PM CST

Very cold temperatures will return this upcoming weekend into early next week in wake of a strong cold front. Wind chills on Fri. night/Sat. Morning could range from the single digits to lower teens, with morning lows on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the teens and lower 20s.

A Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect for much of Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and portions of Northwest Louisiana. Visibilities will be reduced to one mile or less in freezing fog.

It only takes a quarter of an inch of ice accumulations to start bringing down tree branches which could lead to power outages. For reference, some models are showing between a half to one inch of ice accumulation for portions of the area.

Light freezing rain will be possible across portions of extreme Southeast Oklahoma and adjacent Southwest Arkansas Monday morning. Expect light accumulations, generally less than or up to one tenth of an inch, which could result in slick spots on bridges and overpasses.
