#STEMClub were treated to a forensic science crime scene special tonight, run by year 11 STEM Ambassador Daisy! Her dad and his job were her inspiration. @WyHighAcademy super proud of Daisy and all the STEM club students, lots of fun had by all, we all solved the crime too!

@STEMyBanda @WyHighAcademy It's not a set, they have free built this from the big box of LEGO we have! That's why I love it so much, no instructions, no input from adults just build whatever and this was the result!

Introducing the MV LEGO created by #LEGOclub. This has been many weeks in the build by a yr10 student with help from a few yr8 & 9's @WyHighAcademy so proud of their efforts. The detail is phenomenal, 3 decks with engine room, galley, brig, mess, & figurehead! #LEGOeducation

Science & @whsartzone came together, for #STEMeducation with added A, we did #STEAM! Yr 8 topped off their history of art and science project. Very focused, enthusiastic student really overcoming fears, getting creative @WyHighAcademy can't wait for art to upload the pictures!

#STEMClub had the most fun tonight making hologram videos with their phones @WyHighAcademy all my other activities got booted into another session because we just wanted to carry on with these! Easiest session for me ever! #iteachphysics

Mrs Cosham has the joy of a day trip with yr7 @WyHighAcademy and the geography dept to see the seals @beansboattrips and visit @NWTCleyCentre, what a brilliant day so far! 🦭🪲🦋🪷

In recognition of #RefugeeWeek23 we made mini origami boat automatons #STEMClub to remind us of the hardship and fear some refugees experience. This was a #followtheinstructions activity, students were really careful and focused! Brilliant work!⛵️🌊 @WyHighAcademy

Today's #STEMclub made bottle rockets and enjoyed some fun in the sun, and maybe got a bit wet! Great fun had by all @WyHighAcademy

Today was annual year 12 physics siege weapon launch day! Students research a project on the physics of medieval siege weapons. They have to build one from set materials and predict how far the projectile will travel! Every year it's brilliant #iteachphysics! @WyHighAcademy

Tonight's #STEMclub took on the Ditch the Dirt Challenge from @PracticalAction. Another brilliant resource that really got students thinking! Our fab lab tech furnished us with some not so pleasant water samples to filter! @WyHighAcademy

@titchabelle @WyHighAcademy We love them. I opened this box at lunch in the staff room! The science team all begged for a badge to wear!

#STEMclub took on the Bangladesh floating garden challenge today @PracticalAction with lots of enthusiasm @WyHighAcademy the floating mat of individual pods was a definite winner in the testing phase (although a little bit of cheating with extra milk bottle tops!) Nice work all👏

#STEMclub had a go at building and flying kites today @WyHighAcademy using recycled materials. Empty multipack crisp bags, bamboo sticks cut and dried from the garden last year and a ball of wool! Wasn't quite windy enough for good flying, but we'll try again next week!

Today #STEMClub started our new half term topic of 'Engineering', starting with hydraulic labyrinths. Students really excited, so much focus and teamwork. I can't wait to see these finished next week @WyHighAcademy I'll try to get videos!
