I’m delighted to lead the @LibDems campaign to win Cities of London and Westminster at the next general election. Thanks to the local party for choosing me and to colleagues at HQ for their support.

What selection debate from cricket's past still frustrates you even now?

@stephenkb You could argue the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act. The white paper and bill (following the Warnock report) set out a comprehensive regulatory regime, but the Lords added requirements around ‘welfare of the child’ and consideration of the need for a father.

Hivemind, I need help. Government policy that became more radical than the white paper, rather than less: smoking ban, health and social care act...?

@stephenkb The smoking ban was not only significantly more radical than the white paper, but also more than the Bill!

We've been talking about the demands for electricity amid pressure to move to a zero carbon world. Nicola Shaw, Executive Director of @nationalgriduk says they'll be able to at least operate the National Grid without any carbon within the next five years. #5LiveBreakfast

This goodbye is not a farewell. 🇹🇩 and 🇬🇧 remain connected thanks to #NemoLink, the subsea interconnector of @eliacorporate and @nationalgriduk, linking both our grids. This is how we keep the lights on. In Belgium and on the other side of the Channel, all year round. #Brexit

@patrick_kidd Surely Clive Radley would give Denly or Sibley a run for their money? Test average of 48, international career cruelly cut short by head injury on 78/79 tour of Australia. Mean fielder too.

Having an important discussion in the office this morning with our foreign editor, namely who would be in an England cricket XI made up only of players whose surnames end in -ly or -ley.

Witnessed the most amazing thing on the train to Edinburgh yesterday. A guy boarded in Wigan & sat opposite me. He went to sleep for an hour. When he woke up he bought a sandwich, ate it & went back to sleep. (This isn’t a maths test, you don’t need to know the distance/speed).

Hate to take some of the gloss off what's happening at Edgbaston, but the Lords and Commons have lost their second match in the inter-parliamentary cricket World Cup today to Afghanistan. They play Australia in a must-win final match in about an hour
