Wyoming ITC

The Wyoming Energy Authority hosted a visit to the Wyoming Integrated Test Center (ITC) and Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s Dry Fork Station for the Energy Policy Network. SER's David Lucke provided an overview of the ITC and the School of Energy Resources.

The ITC was delighted to open its doors to a distinguished group last week, including Hiroyuki Okajima, the Japanese Consul General in Denver, alongside industry leaders from New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization and the Japan External Trade Organization.

The Integrated Test Center was pleased to host a group of community leaders to learn about the ITC and efforts around CO2 storage. The group also visited the Wyoming Innovation Center across the way to learn about the research efforts of @EnergyUW to convert coal into products.

The Wyoming Integrated Test Center, managed by the University of Wyoming’s School of Energy Resources, was provisionally selected to negotiate a substantial funding award to continue and expand testing operations for CO2 capture, removal and conversion. uwenergyreview.wordpress.com/2025/01/16/wyo…

Membrane Technology and Research (MTR) #CarbonCapture announced the completion of a carbon capture testing facility at the Wyoming Integrated Test Center in Gillette, Wyoming. The facility is the largest membrane-based carbon capture facility in the world. netl.doe.gov/node/14427

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. completed testing of their solid sorbent #CarbonCapture system in September and have been disassembling the equipment. The test bay should be vacated by the end of the year and ready for a new tenant.

Representatives from Coal India visited the Integrated Test Center in the fall to learn more about operations and explore potential opportunities to collaborate in cutting-edge research and technologies.
