My Multidex impressions so far: I’ll start by saying I haven’t seen the source code yet. But what I have seen does make me optimistic. First let’s get some negatives out of the way. I hear a lot of people say that the GUI isn’t slick enough - I’m no designer, but sure, this can improve and I expect it will. I have also posted about a few minor API and key storage issues that I expect to be easily resolved. I have caught the website AI hallucinating a lot, inventing different conflicting versions of how margin orders work. I have called out their claim that they are the first on-chain order book DEX (ICDex did it on ICP years ago). None of that really matters. What matters is the backend trading system, and as far as I can tell it looks pretty advanced, and different from what we have already. All of this is my best guesswork from reading docs and playing around, there will be lots to learn from the source code, but it seems to me that the AMM is innovative and capital efficient. It is designed to make liquidity go a longer way - both for liquidity providers and for traders - by avoiding having it becoming fractioned. As I understand, deploying funds to the AMM Vault exposes you to a mix of products. You deposit into a rebalancing basket of assets, with all of what this entails. Then you earn a portion of all trading fees, but you also earn interest from lending capital to margin traders, and you profit from market making around the spread given the oracle price. It’s rather complex and I am looking forward to the finance wizards in the community dissecting this and explaining it better and evaluating if it’s any good. I may have gotten details wrong. But my assessment is that this is something new and interesting and definitely worth keeping an eye on (no matter what the GUI currently looks like).
