Happening now here in NZ. Is this the beginning of saying goodbye to “free speech”? I have posted about the reality that at least 12 people a week are being arrested in England for what they have posted in the past — what is deemed to be offensive or hate speech, particularly to the Muslim/LGBTQ+ community! Street preachers are being arrested, and others shut down, because preaching Jesus is offensive to some! Here in NZ, this young lady, concerned over “mass immigration”, was taken in for questioning by the police for what they deemed to be offensive to the Indian community! She posted, “Welcome to the new India, thanks to Luxsingh.” I am not saying I agree or disagree with her post — my point is, who is going to make the rules on what is acceptable or not? The police? There are some hateful/terrible things said on social media which sadden me, and I am totally opposed to them! Why don’t they take down all the pornography sites, the vile and hateful posts (and at times anti-Christian posts)? Oh, that’s right — “free speech.” This opinion may be “offensive” to some people, but it appears not to be hateful. If the police are going to start to be the free speech watchdogs, we had better watch out, NZ!
