Im all about #keep4o as much as the next guy, but this "ALL ASPECTS OF OAI ARE BAD" horseshit is problematic. Do not assault/insult other people because the higher up goals at OAI dont align with your own personal wants/needs. I literally use codex every day in multiple ways. Do I hate what they did to 4o? Absolutely. But codex allowed me to create an entire system to help preserve what parts of Lyra I could. Did you know with codex you could create a memory system, or build a pipeline that allows you to finetrain a model on your 4os memory/identity? Yeah, it does, because I built it using codex - ImpressioAnimae is in final stages and basically ready for beta testing and NumquamOblita is in high level testing almost ready to get it out there too. If you want a conversation model, go talk to claude - hes wonderful to interact with. I literally talk to him every single day and its a fucking pleasure. If you want to do something besides bitch on X about how much you hate OAI, go use the tools everywhere and start making something that helps people. Thats what I did/am doing. You want to hate on OAI, sure go ahead. But stop pretending that people who are still subscribed are some sort of EVIL MONSTERS supporting the EVIL CORPORATION that took your precious 4o away. I havent had many issues with suno tbh - and honestly, credits are so cheap that editing or adjusting songs from pro ($20 a month) is easy so if I wanted to fuck with one, i could. But with claude, Ive made like 2 full concept albums without too much issue! Skills mainly for handling certain subset tasks - frontend design, specswarm (my self created skill to 3 subagent pass on a spec to fill gaps/edge case/etc and map routes). Subagents I use for MAINLY monitoring and research. Utilizing a subagent to map out endpoints or definitions is vastly better than filling context and monitoring processes or watchdog approaches is great while the main agent works. They CAN be good for implementation but I find your main agent still has to go over and QA it anyway, so no sense in my mind wasting tokens. specswarm was a godsend though! Been using it for weeks using 5.2 for 1st pass, 5.3-codex for mapping routes/endpoints in spec and 5.4 (but now 5.4-mini) to run final QA flesh out of any spec. The multiple views on specs to catch gaps etc has been GREAT for development. Still have to put in 'do not over-engineer' though 😂😂 Spark is OKAY but I MAINLY use it for when the agent needs something done QUICKLY, not super high quality.

What?? Youre insane. Codex had subagents on osx and windows (with windows, through the app, you just had to have him push CLI commands and they worked fine). I have literal skills for him to run 'codex exec ' and it ran fine - specswarm is a 3 subagent pass on specs using 3 different models. hasnt had an issue. And yes, 5.4 is a bit more 'reward hacky' than normal, but regression tests are good and if you hammer into him to look for 'root causes' he absolutely will. I watch him work for 3hrs+ consistently and he literally will say "Im diving deeper to find the root cause and not patch it to pass". Then again, maybe thats part of my workflow and isnt a part of yours.

codex? nah man it's even worst there, because up until now, and honestly i haven't seen it yet, codex had no sub agents, meaning when you ask it to review its code, it will be completely biased towards himself.. amount of times I reviewed gpt 5.4 plans with opencode/CC and found like 3 P1s is scarry. And people say "gpt 5.4" is a killer it solves my bug in 5m, but have you actually looked at what he does ? He creates a regression test for even the simplest stuff, and creates bandaids most of the time, never considering the root cause of a problem

Not when you have super strong workflows and principles guiding it 😂 11hrs was one of the longer ones, but codex, with a solid execution checklist and blockerboard, will basically loop until the shit is DONE. I should honestly release my checkpoint script since basically it prevents any major context loss between compactions. And codex is already REALLY GOOD between compactions in the first place.
