Joburg Water has advised that this approach is intended to ensure a more precise installation and better quality control before the replacement pipe is installed. Once the fabrication has been completed, the pipe sections will be transported back to the site for installation. At this stage, Joburg Water expects the repairs to be completed tonight, after which the system can begin to be recharged. Water supply will, however, remain interrupted until the repairs have been completed. Joburg Water has also indicated that it will issue an official update on its social media platforms at approximately 14h00.
