Once they realized Bitcoin would not be able to fulfill the vision of the white paper they created the digital gold narrative because they knew it needed a use case to survive at #1. I believe the Bitcoin Maxis are now pushing the strategic reserve for the same reason. The utility tokens are coming for it so they had to give it something that the others don't have the same way they gave Bitcoin alone the commodity status for the last few years. These gimmicks won't work over the long haul. Utility tokens will begin to surpass Bitcoin as RWA tokenization happens.
