Cross won't play Marathon season 2 because of this and indicates he's going to turn down future Sony sponsorships. Says he's not declaring war on Marathon but I mean, it sort of sounds like it. "I am going to be Captain Petty for the rest of the year."

@andhehatedus Sure dude, because Sony didn’t buy out Bungie when they were on the verge of bankruptcy and Destiny 2 was already far from its best days. This fickle community and its click bait content creators killed D2 way before the new Marathon was announced

It’s important to remember that Marathon was quite literally built and paid for by Destiny player money. Bungie took Destiny players money, and instead of using it to make Destiny better, they pissed it away in a desperate cash cow attempt to break into the looter shooter genre.

The voice director for Marathon, Elias Toufexis, spoke out about the backlash from Destiny 2 fans. Many players are upset that Bungie is shifting resources away from Destiny 2 to focus on Marathon He understands the frustration and noted that fans really loved the game before Bungie put it “on hold” to work on Marathon. Toufexis says it’s totally fine to criticize the game or his work, saying “Critique the game? Critique my work? Totally acceptable.” But he questions why some people are actively rooting for Marathon to fail. Instead, he tells unhappy fans to simply “speak with your wallet” and not buy the game. Done.

@blazebolt07 Some of that was tech limitation but Lightfall and other decisions like that were intentional either way with intentionally cut resources, gaslighting, and isolating those that spoke out. Yall should have seen the original interation of lightfall, it was glorious

@WrestlingHumble I would argue a solid chunk of the mid card and NXT shouldn’t be around by that logic, WWE isn’t just blindly giving up on people immediately, even with the releases there are way more that are still employed after the fact.

This post makes me realise that in the current WWE climate, we’ll probably never see a story like Liv Morgan again, where she spent years trying to figure things out and learning on the job as a member of a group before eventually breaking out as her own wrestler a few years ago. Now they just release people if they think they’re not adding much to the product almost immediately.
