My gma had a psychotic break after my gpa died when she was 82 and she kept yelling “I'm free I'm free thank you god I'm free” as EMS took her. my family doesn't like to talk about it

@sweetjoy26_ @MrSage011 There was a bigger handle on it when my mom & me lived w/ them. When we moved out we went over often to just be there. He eventually quit drinking when he got cancer and mellowed out slightly towards the end of his life before dying. I think they were married for 50+ years

@MrSage011 She turned 90 this year & just moved in with my parents, she’s doing great now and goes on cross country road trips once a year. She threw his ashes out of a propeller plane in CA finally a couple years ago.

@HelenFish249972 Pre break, she stayed in the psych unit for a week after this. She was also yelling out for him and saying she would kill him herself when he got back from the store. There was certainly a break from reality for a little while.
