ZKN Development Update – 2025-06-20 The Zero Knowledge Network closes Q2 with major milestones across accessibility and infrastructure. From network client developments to advanced browser extension security architecture, ZKN continues to expand the reach of metadata-private infrastructure to more users and applications. ➡️ ZKN Tech Demo Video: Privacy in Action The team released a short, technical demonstration showcasing ZKN's user-facing developments, providing an overview of how the Zero Knowledge Network delivers privacy-first infrastructure in practice. The video illustrates: A General Overview: Summary of the technologies the ZKN team is working with to build its advanced private communications platform for secure and verifiable data ZKNetwork Client Live Demo: Real-time demonstration of WalletShield routing Blockchain interactions through metadata-private infrastructure Browser Extension Preview: First public look at web dApps making metadata-private API calls through post-quantum secured mixnet tunnels Watch the Demo: youtu.be/KfEpIqih7hI ➡️ Browser Extension: From Concept Proof to Prototype The team wrapped up the latest browser extension sprint, producing the first functional prototype with three critical advancements: ZKNetwork Client API v1: Sub-clients can instantly detect desktop client presence, query network status, and establish secure communication channels without manual setup. Least Privilege Isolation: Following the Principle of Least Privilege, the extension only sees what it must (client presence, network connection), while preventing web pages from accessing fingerprinting data like OS details or system configurations. Real-Time Status Broadcasting: A lightweight, multi-tiered message bus lets the client push status changes to all connected sub-clients at once, supporting system performance for a future of many concurrent apps. ➡️ Queued Up Extension Packaging: An automated build pipeline to generate extension packages to support cross-browser compatibility testing initiated across all major browsers and operating systems. Monorepo Integration: The team is assessing the consolidation of the Client codebase to join the Extension, SDK, and demo applications in their existing Nx workspace, enabling shared libraries and streamlined cross-feature development cycles. Enhanced Mixnet Plugins: Server-side expansions to extend metadata-private API support beyond RPC endpoints, integrating with the developing zkAppChain-powered Service Registry for broader anonymous service discovery and secured access. With a fresh public demo and first extension packages compiling, ZKN is positioned to deliver mixnet-grade privacy directly to browser environments, connecting more users and applications to the Zero Knowledge Network's secured privacy infrastructure.
