I was homeless for a while in college while I was working and no one really knew. I used the showers at one of the religious student unions every morning, slept in my car or crashed on a hidden couch I’d found… Kept my clothes washed at a laundry near campus that the students used. Like you, ate every couple of days. After close to a year, one of my buddies needed a roommate for this cheap apartment, so I moved in there. To me, at the time, I didn’t think I was “homeless”. I was just having trouble finding a place I could afford and wasn’t rushing into anything. I could provide for myself, I kept myself and my clothes clean and I felt safe, so I never freaked out about it. It wasn’t until much later that I realized I’d been “homeless” during that time. 😂
