It used to be that conservatives prided themselves on defending open debate and more speech — not shutting down people they disagree with. Apparently that principle suddenly ends when the topic is Israel. I am pro-Israel theologically as a Christian and on foreign policy as an American. But refusing to allow discussion, questioning motives, or instantly branding disagreement as disloyalty or antisemitism is not persuasive. It only weakens the very principles conservatives once claimed to defend. I’m pro-First Amendment too and anti-“hate speech” justifications for censorship.

A Gaza flotilla activist who was released by Israel arrived in Istanbul and went to receive medical treatment for... cupping... And yes, I believe AI to be accurate on this. No, I do not think they received cupping therapy in Israel. I believe this hippy idiot got the treatment while on the flotilla and thought it would be a great way to accuse Israel of abuse. The only other explanation is that, when detained by the IDF, he would not comply and probably started yapping about that state that doesn’t exist, so they sprayed him with rubber bullets, which I am sure he deserved. And which, by the way, is a method many, many nations in the West, including the United States have used in the past.
