Teleportation. I watched Star Trek and always wondered of the implications. Teleportation doesn’t move you or your atoms from one place to another, The process in theory scans every atom in your body, destroy the original you and transmit the data to the destination, and recreates an identical atom perfect copy there. But the original “you” dies in the process. The copy thinks it’s you, has your memories, but the past atoms of “you” consciousness ends. Are you your atoms, or the pattern of information? And when we finally teleport, we may become face to face with the elements of “who” we are. And perhaps one of us will come back and do our best to explain what we currently have no words for.
