6. Our view: this isn't Level Up OR direct-to-consumer infrastructure. It's Level Up AND it. Google Play for acquisition with direct channels for your highest-value player relationships and the first-party data that comes with them. More at GDC this week.

5. Google's own docs say Level Up guidelines "might evolve into required guidelines in the future." The Epic settlement oversight period ends eventually. Every Google Play publisher should build a direct channel now while they still have full optionality.
