Getting injured during your recruiting years can be a huge setback. I’ve talked to multiple players recently who are trying to get recruited but can’t play in front of coaches right now due of injuries. Here’s what you can still do to move your recruiting forward ⬇️ 1️⃣ Understand this: injuries happen to everyone. Coaches know that. What matters is how you handle it. You can’t control the injury, but you can control how you communicate, stay involved, and show coaches who you are. 2️⃣ Keep coaches updated. Don’t disappear. If you were in contact before the injury, send an update, explain what happened, your recovery timeline, and what you’re doing to stay ready. 3️⃣ Continue to lift, hit and throw if possible. Share video updates of your rehab and your training. Coaches want to see consistency! 4️⃣ GAIN CONNECTIONS. You’ll need people who can vouch for you, someone trusted by the coaching staff. This could be your advisor, a coach, or even a trainer. Getting injured does not need to be the end of your baseball career.
