Judge Collin Sequerah has begun delivering his verdict. #1MDB - so far, has found the four abuse of charges were not faulty and that Najib was not prejudiced in the trial - multiple witnesses described Low as close to Najib who gave directions to 1MDB officials on his behalf

The Court of Appeal in a landmark decision has just affirmed that stateless persons have the right to marry under our Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976. The absence of a National Identity Card, which stateless persons obviously would not have, is not a bar to marriage.

Let me get this straight, we brought in 7 foreigners, forged their documents and granted them citizenships quickly, got caught for fraud by multiple international organisations & agencies, and no one should be prosecuted/blame. Correct?

The speed at which FF announced this is the only clue you need - Gov has been keeping this in their pocket, and was just looking for an appropriate excuse to shove it down our throats. Some crucial points: 1. Even if you support age verification for social media (which is understandable), you should NOT support mandatory linking of a government-issued ID to social media profiles. 2. Gov should do the legwork first - come up with an OPEN-SOURCED mechanism for a way to prove age with zero-knowledge (meaning: the social media platform only verifies that you are > 12 or 18), without the social media platform ever knowing your official identity. 3. Don't be naive. Election season is coming up. There's a reason gov wants this - it is a direct route to shutting down free expression. Let me remind PH folks - one of the crucial tools in toppling the corrupt Najib gov was a free Internet. Don't allow the gov a free pass on this. Just because we agree with the goal of protecting children, doesn't mean this is the solution. And a final thought - if it wasn't painfully obvious already, PH no longer represents the principles they tunggang to win.

Please stop sharing photos publicly of the victim and alleged attacker in a school. As journalists, we are not after clicks and traffic. It is unethical to publish such photos of such incident.

Having done many citizenship cases, I can confidently say that in 99% of the cases, JPN would make the applicant go to the moon and back to prove their lineage - DNA test lah, write to embassy lah - even when obvious So when FAM, JPN, or politikus say ikut prosedur, it’s untrue!

I don't know what DBP were smoking this morning, but for some reason they felt the need to post a translation ("hurai lewah") of something that isn't even a real word. 🤡🤡

On her last day, Chief Justice Tengku Maimun defends our constitutional right to freedom of assembly. The government can no longer require 5-day notice to hold peaceful rallies, as that has been ruled by the Federal Court to be unconstitutional. malaysiakini.com/news/747680
