As a wicket keeper it's Sanju's responsibility to keep talking & motivating bowlers. You don't need to be the Captain to do that. Sanju generally does it very well. As a wk he gets a better idea about field settings & the inputs can be beneficial. But in the last 2 games it seemed like he was not that involved. I know CSK is new to him, but he can't keep mum. Apart from one over where Chahar was bowling he was de*d silent behind the stumps. Sanju needs to be more proactive as a wk.

Good that Sanju finally left. This was not the team where you had to sacrifice your self-respect to stay loyal.
This is why you see the likes of Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane still talking about Chennai Super Kings with pride all the time… but nothing about RR.

So Rajasthan Royals had already planned to prioritise Riyan Parag as captain back in 2024 itself. RR owner Ranjit Barthakur, with his Assamese background, clearly wanted to prioritise Guwahati and Parag. It became crystal clear when Parag was scripted to captain the first two games in Guwahati, while Sanju Samson the franchise’s long-time face was reduced to an “Impact Player”. And this wasn’t a transition from an aging captain ,Samson was only 30, still in his prime, still the face of the franchise. Credit to Sanju Samson for staying in a set up like this for so long. Anyone else would have left long back.

He was never loyal, RR only kept him in 2021 by giving him captaincy 22-24 we were top 3 so he stayed quiet. Rumours were there since 2020 he had a serious RCB trade offer, even asked RR for release. So badale made him captain Before 22 retention he unfollowed RR & followed csk

I still remember before 2022, RR finished last in 2020 and second last in 2019 😶
Then Sanju led them to the final in 2022, finished 5th in 2023 and 3rd in 2024 .
