Crimson Desert blew past its old peak of 248K today & hit 276K. It's also holding #2 on Steam, globally and it's been there all week. What's impressive is you don't really see this happen with successful single player games, often. The last one I can think of is Schedule I. Hogwarts Legacy & RE: Requiem both didn't come close and those were smash hits. (especially Hogwarts) A few things I can think of that are leading to this: 1) The early reception was mid from the journos & early reviewers, but word-of-mouth has been stellar which has kept sales strong. 2) The game is very long so not too many people are finishing so they're still playing. 3) The lightening speed updates have made a big difference and people who played have noticed. 4) $70 game. Let's be real, there aren't many $70 titles that are worth it and I don't blame anyone for waiting to see if it was.
