Today we worked systematically and spotted patterns to organise 36 sweets of different colours into a geometric shape. None of the colours could be adjacent. Some great problem solving and digging deeper to make more complex shapes @nsprimary
Yesterday, we used trial and error and spotted patterns to make a square with dominoes in which all sides had to equal 8. Some great ideas how to solve problems when sides equalled too much or too little. @nsprimary
To celebrate World Music Day, we took a song we learned earlier this year and made our own raps based on ourselves and our life stories. Fantastic work

Y5 had a fantastic day in Beamish yesterday, learning more about the Suffragettes and Suffragists. We marched through the streets protesting our views and debated in the bandstand.
For Science week, Y5 looked at 'Growing' and life cycles. We watched farm animals being born in a live lesson, researched life cycles and presented our learning as a poster. Some very interesting gestation and life expectancy facts found. @nsprimary
In computing today, we used an app called colorsplash to create images where the item we wanted to focus on was the only thing in colour. Aren't these amazing!@nsprimary
