@LanceZierlein Same question but for cornerbacks that will be more impactful than Woolen. Finally, same question with linebackers and Leo Chenal.

@BuckeyeNatty Our analytics has some positions here physicals/measurables have a high correlation with future perfomance. WR is not one of them. I'm not saying there is NO correlation, but it's not like Edge/OT where we have an 85% chance of predicting base-starterplay

People are overthinking this so much For those wondering, JSN ran a 4.52 at the NFL Combine too If you play at 4.52, you're fine Watch him play... Carnell Tate is such a smooth route runner & great at contested catches
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter

Ohio State WR Carnell Tate, a potential top 10 pick, was timed by several NFL executives and GMs on Saturday with a 40 time in the range of 4.45-4.47 seconds. Although the combine registers official times, teams always conduct their own timing, and those measurements with some teams were lower than his clocked 4.52.

Shoutout to the wife who gritted through four marathons with a bone-on-bone knee condition to finish "The Big Six" marathons with her finish in the Tokyo Marathon (Chicago, NY, Boston, Berlin, London & Tokyo). Steroid shots, gel injections, stem cells, celebrex. Plays with pain!

@LanceZierlein Mike Washington was a guy I liked who just showed he has even more than I thought. He ran through a lot of UT, but I thought some of his long runs were the result of bad UT angles. It turns out he just has elite speed on top of 223lb of balance.

I'm literally waking up in Tokyo to a bunch of videos of safeties running like the fastest WR group in any year. Disclaimer: running fast and playing fast are two different things. Very impressive nonetheless.

@JohnOwning I guess I just mean if Liafau is an OLB, then one of the OLB is not a true edge. If that is so, Anthony Hill or Harold Perkins might be considerations

the problem is that size isn't the reason why Liufau won't work on the edge. Has nothing to do with it really. it's about skill! But hey, players are allowed to develop and I would love to be proven wrong, I just don't think I will in this scenario.
hedgehogplush@plushhedgehog1

@Marcus_Mosher Nolan Smith and Nik Bonitto are the same size and I think everyone would be thrilled with either of them. Obviously that doesn't mean they're the same player but this feels like doom posting more than anything.

@NickHarrisFWST @tommy_yarrish An edge can win with short arms if they win with burst, lateral quickness, bend and long speed (coverage sacks). Micah didn't have long arms. The question is, what does Bain put up on the agility/explosion drills.

@LanceZierlein Cowboys. Dejean-nickel, edge, off ball LB. The new DC's first interview seems to hint he will need a chess piece. One functional edge rostered, one functional healthy LB rostered.

I need your help. I'm compiling team needs for every NFL team for my upcoming mock draft from multiple spots but I also want local media/fans take since they often have a unique feel for storyline like cap cuts, etc. List your team, then, in order, top 3 needs & any explanation

@LanceZierlein Is there a particular scheme he could possibly workout as a starter in? Something featuring a lot of rolling out so he doesn't have to see over linemen as often?

I wrote the profile for Diego Pavia yesterday. There were some surprising things I found. For example, did you know he has the same completion rate on intermediate throws that Fernando Mendoza has? When you eliminate RPO throws, Diego's percentage is actually higher.

@VoiceOfTheStar @ShrineBowl Are they even trying to block this guy? I can't tell if he's just getting free releases or beating the breaks off of the OT.

@JohnOwning I'm curious about Anthony Hill. Year 2 he was used off the edge more and had 8 sack. People just remember years 1 and 3 when he was most used off-ball. Testing and measurements might confirm it, but I think he has the athletecism to fill a LB/edge role

So I spent my time today watching all of Arvel Reese's snap where he's aligned on the edge. From a pass-rush perspective, Reese is still mighty raw. He has a rudimentary pass-rush plan, as he consistently rushes to contact despite being the vastly superior athlete. He's certainly strong for his size, but when you're not threatening speed, OTs can sit down on his power and nullify his bull rush attempts. He also has bouts with slow reactions off the ball, which puts him behind early in rushes at times. Obviously an insane athlete with outstanding closing speed. Corners very naturally but can get choppy with his feet at times. Would like to see him utilize his athleticsm more and threaten speed and look to parry strikes instead of rushing to contact so much. Sky-high rush potential but he's not there yet. I do think playing full-time at the position will aid many of his issues, such as his get-off. When defending the run, I love the way he attacks pullers. Consistently lays the wood on dudes coming across the formation. Does a good job attacking half-man from a rooted base with good hand placement so that he can use his length to create separation for easy sheds. Can duck his head on contact and lose sight of ball on occasion. Absolutely man handles most tight ends, too strong. Can set a strong edge vs zone concepts. Honestly, I don't see a top-10 type of guy purely from an EDGE perspective, but he's got big-time potential if he can get the details ironed out with more experience and time at the position.

Arvell Reese registered just 3 pressures in his last 6 games. Have we overrated Reese's pass-rush ability? I'm going to sit down tomorrow to watch all his pass-rush snaps from last year (121) and see what the deal is.

His last healthy year in Dallas, his pass-rush win rate was 5% higher and he totaled 8 more stops and 7 more tackles for loss or no gain. This is what's so annoying about Cowboys fans and DLaw, they refuse to give him credit for the incredible player that he was
Richard Duncan@sift_the_ashes

@JohnOwning I'm not a D-Law hater - happy he has a chance to play in the big game; always hate to see a great player never get that opportunity. But stop acting like he played this way for the Cowboys -- he didn't. at least not at the end when that decision was made.

@SportsSturm To be fair, Wilson was injured, and the Cowboys only take risks on injured Lbs if it is irreparable cervical disk or irreparable lower leg nerve damage.
