The idea that people have power does give us hope but also immense responsibility. This is an autonomy that only we cant give away. Or let them take. The aliens and AI… and those behind them.

I am still optimistic enough to believe in people power. The power of everyday people to change the material conditions (and immaterial) that we are living in. Not people as the sum of user generated content.

Artificial intelligence, extraterrestrial sentience, regardless of their existence it seems like another attempt for us as humans to grasp for an exit door to responsibility for the world we’ve created.
