The result is that everyone around him fills the vacuum he leaves and shapes his life for him often is very negative ways

@CoffeeandIrony @bybabel What did you find profound about the book? A man sits back and lets his wife make him as miserable as possible and does nothing, sees his daughter being actively sabotaged leading to an emotionally damaged life in which she numbs herself with alcohol and he does .. nothing
