@DavidOpie I didn’t think the writing and acting could be worse than S1…but, new depths of horrendous have been uncovered. I am now in “can’t look away from the train wreck” mode.

I have mixed feelings on the new #AndJustLikeThat. Season 2 puts the sex back into SATC, plus the supporting characters are given more time to shine, but some of the storylines are even more clunky this time around. I will still watch it religiously though. Of course.

I took this photo of the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue on Lady Bird Lake in Austin in 2011, illuminating Stevie with a flashlight over which I placed a blue filter. 12 years ago! The skyline has changed so much since then. Looking at this now, it's almost hard for me to believe that it was me who took this. I know in my rational mind that I did, indeed, go down there at about midnight, set up my tripod/camera etc... but it feels like me in another life. Isn't memory a funny thing?

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: A while back I posted this map of the ecological regions of Texas, adding that it seemed the most sensible way to envision the state in terms of terrain. What I failed to do was to include the acreage of each of these regions: 1) Piney Woods - 16 million acres 2) Gulf Prairies and Marshes - 10 million acres 3) Post Oak Savannah - 7 million acres 4) Blackland Prairies - 12 million acres 5) Cross Timbers - 15 million acres 6) South Texas Plains - 21 million acres 7) Edwards Plateau - 25 million acres 8) Rolling Plains - 24 million acres 9) High Plains - 21 million acres 10) Trans Pecos Mountains - 18 million acres For reference, Big Bend National Park is slightly more than 800 thousand acres. Also: I need to get out on the road and explore some more of those acres!
