If you were to adjust the stock market prices from the 1970s for inflation and then compare them to the price of gold in the present day, it appears that the stock market has not increased in value when priced in gold. 🤯 I'm too lazy to do up a chart for visual presentation. Can someone do it? I'll help with steps: 1. Calculate the inflation-adjusted values for the S&P 500 and gold prices by dividing the nominal price by the CPI value for that year. Source: FRED or Yahoo 2. Plot the inflation-adjusted S&P 500 and gold prices on a line chart, with the years on the X-axis and the prices on the Y-axis. lbma.org.uk/pricing-and-st… 3.
