I have posted about this before, and I’ll admit, I used to think it was ridiculous, but the “mainstream” side does have this one correct.
The reason many land areas are warming up faster than the global average (a pretty meaningless metric, but I digress) is because Earth’s surface is 71% water, and land’s comparatively low specific heat capacity means its temperature can change more quickly.
It’s just basic thermodynamics with some geography factored in.
It should mention, though, this would be true REGARDLESS of the cause. Natural global warming produces the same spatial patterns as anthropogenic would. There are no distinct “fingerprints.”

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels above 600 ppm are not bad for plants. 🪴
They thrive in levels of 800-1,200 ppm.
As for cognitive functions, most people are fine at several thousand ppm.
