@AndroidPolice There already exists an API for this: developer.android.com/google/play/in… which Google does make use of for YouTube, but it is trivial to bypass so no this does not affect YouTube adblocking on android /2

@AndroidPolice Hi just a correction to your article; "Rather than modding the YouTube app itself", Vanced was and always has been a modification of the YouTube app, other derivatives such as ReVanced do the same thing, this API would not help them implement what you are describing in any way /1

Many of you may think that those who use YouTube vanced get lot of privileges like playing audio even when screen black and stuff. But you can't imagine that when parents arrived their room at midnight they instantly turned screen off and audio is still playing background (1/2)
