@LeanderHofkes @AsjadAamir so then for an example, how can or do you make Out of Bounds into that, because from my viewpoint I just see Out Of Bounds as a basketball channel that people come to for the topics of the video? If basketball dies down a lot how do you fix that with your channel?

The issue you're describing is most often ideation-related. But the real reason channels won't survive long-term is that they aren't giving viewers a reason to stay. When demand in a niche dies down, you can only rely on the returning viewerbase you have built up. This is where branding comes in. If people only come to your channel for the topics, you are replaceable.

One channel. Still making $20k/month. The magic of branded. Most channels wouldn't even last a year.

NBA YouTube is DEAD. This is JxmyHighroller, the biggest NBA commentary YouTuber. Once upon a time, he used to get 2-3 million views per video. Easy. Now, he can barely cross 800k views. The niche has been on the decline for a while now. And it’s only getting worse. I have one of the biggest channels in the niche as well. So I know how bad it is first hand. If you are starting YouTube, I don’t advise this niche. I’m thinking of stopping creating content in it myself. You’ve been warned.
