Trump tariffs are a tax on the American people. Trump can say whatever he likes about tariffs, but it doesn’t mean they are a good idea. We know this will increase costs for hard working families — the exact opposite of what folks need.

And after those first photographs, she was a constant and consistent part of our lives, attending graduations, weddings and promotions, always with her camera in hand. That kind of money could cover ACA tax credits six times over. I won’t support more funding for reckless conflicts while families here at home are struggling with rising health care costs and the price of everyday essentials.

The Pentagon is reportedly asking Congress for another $200 billion to fund Donald Trump’s illegal war with Iran. As a former Army officer, I will always fight to support our servicemembers — they deserve the best training, equipment, and care we can provide. But that doesn’t mean giving the Pentagon a blank check for another endless war.

Carol Kitman was an amazing person. In 1980––just months after our arrival to the U.S., as refugees from the Soviet Union––she all but adopted me and Eugene and remained part of our lives for nearly 50 years. She and her wonderful husband Marvin were there at all of our major life events. They were precious to the entire Vindman family. We loved them and Carol will be very missed. On Pi Day, I joined the Stafford Dems for their annual fundraiser. And yes, there was plenty of pie. 🥧 But more importantly, it was a night of community, camaraderie, and shared commitment to the work ahead.

I secured $967,000 in federal funding for the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office to upgrade its radio communication system. Reliable communications are the backbone of public safety—especially in rural communities and around our schools. Proud to support the deputies who serve Caroline County every day.

Proud to secure $500,000 for a Unified Mobile Command Center for Madison County first responders. This shared resource will help law enforcement, fire, and EMS coordinate during emergencies, search and rescue missions, and major incidents. When seconds matter, strong coordination saves lives.

War should always be the last resort. And if America is going to fight one, it must be legal, strategic, and necessary. This war is none of those things.

Fourteen months in, let’s get real. Donald Trump is really bad at his job. He learned nothing from his first term and last year. Costs up. War in the Middle East. Bailout for Russia. Chaos, cruelty, corruption are the hallmarks of his presidency. Very soon we will have the chance to get past the chaos; to the enduring promise of the American dream and the renewed hope of a nation ready to build again.

POTUS gets us into a war in Iran. Iran gets intel from Russia to target us. POTUS lifts sanctions on Russian oil to help Russia. Obscene.

Donald Trump launched a war in Iran without authorization from Congress, without a plan, and without explaining the costs to the American people. Now he wants $50 billion to keep it going. Congress shouldn’t give him a blank check.
