@PhilMphela I just knew when I saw the trailer, cast and style of the show that it would be a typical South African mess

When I first heard that Showmax was bringing us a legal procedural series I was so excited. While the show is watchable, I have to admit that it is a let down. It looks and styled like any other show in South Africa. It could be easily be any of these telenovela with some cases as a side story. The show is more about the lawyers’ personal lives than it is about “lawyering”. Where is the intrigue, the suspense, the intricate cases, etc? I wanted to see lawyers battle it out in court every week. I wanted episodes that challenges the viewers’ moral code. I wanted us to be debating the messiness of law, prosecutorial process and crime in Mzansi. I hope the producers at Izwi Production Company watch Law & Order. Hell, even Suits leaned on the lawyers as characters than cases but the legal drama took precedence. Law & Order: SUV season 19 has some interesting episodes that challenges one’s perception of law, race, sexuality, loyalty, etc. One of my fave episode is 14 where Detective Cassidy blows a case and the child molester is set free, then later found dead. Cassidy then shows up at Olivia Benson’s apartment smeared with blood. Did Cassidy kill him? All evidence points to it, but by the end of the episode you are shocked. Olivia & Cassidy used to date, so you get the personal drama and the case still serves a strong anchor to the story. That’s the kind of show I had hoped we would be getting from Law, Love & Betrayal. But alas …

@BricorOuttaHere The other day I was listening to old school hip hop, and I just wondered how did hip hop go from being great music to rappers rapping about cars, drugs, money and girls?

@sedzz_z No it’s not, I’d say it’s average. It does have a lot of potential though. The problem is that the script is poorly written.

@Mzwakhe____ It’s not the acting, it’s the script. The show has a poorly written scripts, usually when the script is bad then acting mods have to work extra hard to try bring it life.

@SkeemSaam3 Thank you for educating the youth. But what exactly are you teaching young girls? Ntswaki schemed her way into Tobias’s life and now Tobias is about to face 15 years in prison for falling for Ntswaki’s lies.

Mzansi Magic’s new historical drama series ‘Queen Modjadji’ saw the biggest decline in viewership in August 2024 and unfortunately failed to make the top 30 most-watched shows of the month.

@_Dumile God is not a tyrant, dictator. He's a loving father that just wants you to let him in. Be open and honest with him. Ask him to lead the way. Life is not easy so allow him to lead the way. Trust me he has a better plan.

@BuyiBingwa @_Dumile It's not about the building. Church is a place of worship. It's where you go inorder to grow spiritually and feed your spirit. If you do not like the church you grew up in. Please find a new one . As a Christian you need to fellowship with other.

@_Dumile In order for you to grow spiritually you need to go to a place of worship. This journey is not meant to be walked alone. If you don't like your church tell the holy spirit to help you find a new one.

@_Dumile Led to a new church. My relationship with God has grown since. I'm at a point where I can't believe that there was once a point where church wasn't apart of my life. As a Christian you NEED to go to church, you need to fellowship . You need that holy spirit filled environment.
