Another year, another yearly wrap-up of Joe things! In 2024, I caught 764 fish, 37 of which were new species and 4 new subspecies. I ran 272 miles and hiked 177. An amazing year with substantial time spent outdoors and by the water. Caught twice as many fish this year than normal

The shovelnose sturgeon is another long-lived species! They have a vacuum cleaner-like mouth used to filter mussels, snails and other fish out of the sand on the bottom of rivers. These sturgeon are considered federally threatened.
