In summary, a surprise twist in evolution unlocked NORAD's new feature! It can now mediate the nuclear entry of STAT3, thereby inhibiting the interferon response in primates. Upon viral infection, NORAD is cleaved, prompting STAT3's exit and activating the antiviral response.
