For most of DeFi’s history, yield has been treated like a leaderboard. The higher the APY, the better the opportunity. Protocols compete with bigger numbers, and users move liquidity to wherever the yield looks highest. But serious capital evaluates returns differently. In traditional finance, investors always consider risk-adjusted yield - the return relative to the risk taken to generate it. 1. The Problem With APY Comparisons In DeFi, most users compare opportunities using one number: APY. Dashboards show the highest yields, and capital flows toward those opportunities. But two strategies with the same APY can carry very different risks. A 15% yield from stable lending is not the same as a 15% yield from volatile liquidity pools. The number alone doesn’t show the full picture. 2. Risks Behind DeFi Yield Every yield strategy includes hidden risks: • volatility of underlying assets • liquidity risk • impermanent loss • slippage during market stress • emissions-driven incentives Many high yields exist because they compensate users for taking on these risks. 3. High Yield vs Stable Yield Consider two strategies: • Strategy A - 20% APY but high volatility • Strategy B - ~8–9% APY but stable returns While Strategy A looks better, volatility and incentive changes can reduce real profits. For many investors, stable and predictable yield is more valuable than the highest possible yield. 4. The Shift Toward Risk-Adjusted Thinking As DeFi matures, investors are starting to focus on: • consistency of returns • sustainable revenue • resilience during market downturns • capital preservation This is where risk-adjusted yield becomes a better metric than simple APY. 5. The Role of DeFi Vaults This is where DeFi vaults help improve onchain capital allocation. Instead of manually chasing yield, vaults can: • diversify strategies • automate allocation • manage risk parameters • enable automated compounding This approach is often called managed DeFi. 6. Example: Concrete DeFi USDT A practical example is Concrete vaults. The Concrete DeFi USDT vault currently offers around ~8.5% stable yield. Instead of chasing the highest APY, the focus is on consistent and sustainable returns. This approach can be more attractive for institutional DeFi participants looking for long-term capital efficiency. @ConcreteXYZ

DataHaven promised loyalty… and dumped the project overnight. They hyped the community, made big promises… then vanished in a day. Lesson: talk is cheap. Trust is earned.

Why APY Is the Most Misunderstood Metric in DeFi For years, DeFi has competed on one number - APY. Dashboards promote it, protocols advertise it, and users chase the highest yield. The common belief is simple: higher APY = better opportunity. But reality is different. The highest APY is often the least sustainable yield. APY shows gross returns, but it ignores key risks like impermanent loss, slippage, gas costs, liquidity changes, incentive decay, and market volatility. What looks attractive can hide serious downside. Many high yields come from emissions-driven farming, strategies that work only in calm markets, or positions that fail during market stress. Chasing yield often increases hidden risk instead of long-term returns. Mature finance focuses on risk-adjusted yield, not headline numbers. The real question is not “What’s the APY?” but “What’s the return after risk?” This is where Concrete vaults take a different approach. They focus on capital efficiency, managed DeFi, and structured onchain capital allocation. With active capital deployment and automated rebalancing, they act as structured capital allocators - not simple yield wrappers. Concrete DeFi USDT shows this clearly. A stable 8.5% yield can be more valuable than a fragile 20% APY because stability supports long-term growth. Sustainable income > temporary incentives. The future of DeFi is moving toward institutional DeFi, where infrastructure beats marketing and capital permanence matters more than hype. APY was Phase 1. Engineered yield is Phase 2 @ConcreteXYZ

Gmic fam! @SeismicSys On the eve of the Seismic Discord's birthday, my friend @dmitry_mano launched a great Challenge: "My Best Moments with Seismic" ♥️ For the last year, I've been on the Seismic server almost every day, during which time I've found many friends and like-minded people, and I've fallen in love with drawing and creating content. And at the end of My Best Moments with Seismic at the moment is getting 🗻 Magnitude 8.0, it was very pleasant and the New Year holidays turned out to be even more enjoyable. @NoxxW3 @xealistt @heathcliff_eth

In exactly 2 weeks (5 March), the Seismic Discord turns one year old! 🤩🥳😻 It's been an incredible year since our amazing, talented community was founded and I want to celebrate it launching a challenge called "My Best Moments with Seismic" Сreate an art, collage or any video that captures your favorite memories with the Seismic community! My art captures 3 of my absolute loving moments: 1. The first time Noxx said me 'hi' 2. Drawing online together with other talented artists 3. The legendary first-ever Seismic Meetup Let's make this birthday epic together. Quote this post and drop your fire memories 🔥 @SeismicSys @NoxxW3 @lyronctk @xealistt
