💣 Weekly Update 💣 What a week! We started off with the long awaited tokenomics update. Plenty of good stuff in that announcement and, as expected, a lot of focus on the commitment/proposal to burn 100 million $coti, subject to community approval. I personally applaud such deflationary measures, and I would like them to be repeatable in future as well. The effect would compound very nicely over time. For that to happen, we ideally need a few things: Higher transaction fees for private transactions - We can see from the announcement that the intent is there, to price private transactions according to degree of complexity. There is also the announcement of the privacy bridge which is a critical piece of infrastructure when it comes to private cross-chain transactions. Next, we need to ramp up usage of Garbled Circuits. @StaTwig showed us it’s possible to scale private transactions. @zoniqxinc is the proof that more complex transactions involving compliant and programmable privacy can be done. Complexity at scale. As for the ramp-up… Today’s bombshell announcement of the launch of COTI Nightfall, although totally unexpected, is a bold power move for the ages and extremely bullish for the future! Nightfall is battle-tested and multi-chain - @Polygon @Starknet @Celo and now @ethereum . Built-in decentralized AML/KYC via it ZK rollup design. Add to this the raw power of garbled circuits and you have a hybrid privacy layer where developers can can choose or combine for every use case imaginable. A one-stop multi-chain privacy layer. Plug and play production-grade privacy, with some serious enterprise and institutional credibility. Nightfall was built by EY (and then open sourced) and compliance is in its DNA. @COTInetwork recently announced their entry into the @enteth Privacy Working Group, alongside EY and others. COTI Nightfall has the potential to further deepen that relationship, possibly unlocking EY client pipelines, and simplifying the regulatory approval process. The synergy is strong here. The result will be much faster institutional adoption for private RWA’s, Private TradFi and DeFi, payments, logistics, identity and so much more. Exactly the vision that @shahafbg described earlier this year. And, of course, the flywheel effect here is that this feeds an increasing demand for the token, creating higher transaction/bridging revenues and makes regular token burns much more meaningful. Deflationary AND sustainable. With today’s announcement, @COTInetwork is the now the undisputed leader when it comes to “full stack privacy” and the timing couldn’t have been better. The markets are clearly signally that privacy is the biggest remaining technical hurdle to adoption. $coti is now full-stack, multi-chain, faster, lighter, cheaper, infinitely scalable and LIVE. Not the promise of one year from now. Not the hype, with nothing to back it up. Production ready NOW, and aiming to be the default settlement layer for private transactions. Checkmate.
